Country music fans across the nation who had hoped to attend the iconic June Jam in Fort Payne, Alabama this year were met with disappointing news: the 2025 edition of the festival has officially been paused.
Organizers made the announcement earlier this spring, citing a combination of factors, including regional economic conditions, scheduling conflicts with other major music events, and challenges in securing headline artists for this year’s lineup. After the massive success of the 2023 and 2024 June Jam revivals, the decision to take a break in 2025 was not made lightly.
“We love our fans and our hometown,” said a spokesperson for the band ALABAMA, who founded and have long hosted the event. “But this year, the stars just didn’t align. Rather than deliver a show that wasn’t up to our standard, we’re stepping back to regroup — and come back stronger next year.”
Originally launched in 1982, June Jam became one of the South’s most beloved music festivals, drawing tens of thousands to Fort Payne annually and raising millions for charity over the years. The recent revival of the festival was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, especially in 2023 when nearly 11,000 fans filled the park to relive the magic.
While fans may be disappointed this year, there is still good news. A special Fan Appreciation Weekend will take place in Fort Payne from June 26 to 28, 2025, keeping the spirit of June Jam alive in a more intimate format. Events will include the popular “Singing with the Stars” contest hosted by Teddy Gentry, a songwriters’ showcase, and the always-anticipated “Fandemonium on the Farm” at Randy Owen’s property.
The ALABAMA world headquarters in Fort Payne will also host special exhibits and gatherings for fans during the weekend, giving longtime supporters a reason to return to the band’s hometown and connect with the legacy they helped build.
Looking ahead, organizers have confirmed that June Jam is expected to return in 2026, with planning already underway. The goal, they say, is to deliver a show that lives up to its legendary reputation—complete with big-name acts, powerful tributes, and the heart-centered mission that has always defined the event.
For now, fans are encouraged to mark their calendars for 2026, support the Fan Appreciation Weekend in June, and continue to celebrate the music, memories, and meaning that June Jam has represented for over 40 years.
Because sometimes, a brief pause only sets the stage for something even greater.
And when June Jam returns — it promises to be a moment worth waiting for.
